This is long overdue. But, since I recently deleted my gallery - then put it back - a short introduction. I was a professional architectural photographer for 11 years, but walked away for a number of reasons. Getting back into the medium has been both fun and frustrating. I have been moved and inspired by many of the artists on DA, which has been fun. Converting my old film work to digital, and learning to work in digital - has been frustrating. It has been about 15 years since I was involved in photography, and the excitement is back - in large part due to some of the truly remarkable artists - and people - I have encountered here. So a general, but heartfelt thanks to all of them.
A short time ago, an artist whose work amazes me issued a challenge of sorts: she offered to highlight work of others in her journal whose work might otherwise not be seen, in exchange for those so highlighted to do the same for others. I have not, until now, kept my part of the bargain. Not because I didn't want to, but only because I am not sure how to insert the proper links. So, I will try - but if unsuccessful, I will include the DA names of these artists whom I admire and respect in the hope that those reading this will take the time to check them out - it will definitely be worth your while.

Another promise I need to keep was to myself. I have intended to acknowledge and praise the work of models and photographers who regularly and openly put themselves out there. I think it takes great courage to expose yourself to the eyes and criticism of others. These, mostly women, deserve our thanks and respect, not only for being so bold and open, but for constantly reminding us of the beauty of the human body. So THANK YOU to all the models and self-photographers. Your efforts are appreciated.
On a more personal note, I am working on a couple of personal projects. One is to photograph people I know that are remarkable to me for one reason or another. Another is to work with some models to examine the nude form. Both will take some time, as I don't have as much opportunity to shoot as I would like. Life seems to keep getting in the way. Since I live in the Philadelphia area, if anyone would be willing to endure my lens, I would truly appreciate it.
So, thanks for reading the rambling journal.
All the best,
Nevin
